Avis approached us to create a campaign, celebrating the addition of the Citroën C3 to their fleet of available hire cars. This addition coincided with the launch of the Citroën C3 WRC and the World Rally Championships as a whole. We were briefed to use this theme to excite potential customers and show them the journey that could be achieved by simply hiring a car.


To encourage interaction we created a competition, offering people a chance to win a VIP trip to the World Rally Championships in Spain. This ran across four countries – the UK, Spain, France and Belgium – and took the form of a series of HTML 5 banners with an integrated animation. Each country was provided toolkits containing collateral to help raise awareness of the campaign within rental locations. These toolkits comprised of leaflets, pull-up banners and screen assets.


In terms of usable content, the HTML 5 banners pushed the boundaries. By combining film, animation and static imagery, we created an eye-catching piece of work that succeeded in conveying our message.

After the launch of the campaign, the HTML 5 banners reached over 60 million people - an absolutely amazing result.
